ISO 22000 Certification - 3 December 2012

We are proud to announce that the food safety team under guidance of Darwin de Waal has successfully completed the ISO 22000 project and that we've received the ISO 22000 certificate from SGS. 

BBBEE Certification - 20 November 2012

As part of the funding process by the IDC, Biodelta has applied for a BBBEE (Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment) certificate. We were expecting a level 6 maybe level 5 status, but due to our employment equity, preferential procurement, enterprise development and Socio-economic development we've been awarded a level 2 BBBEE status as a small enterprise.

ISO 22000 Accreditation - 29 October 2012

SGS issued a letter stating that we have closed out the minor findings successfully and that the certification is being couriered from SGS Switzerland. 

ISO 22000 Accreditation - 21 October 2012

Wednesday and Thursday we had the 2nd stage audit by SGS. Due to the hard work and commitment of all our staff but in special the quality and food safety team, the results of this audit were very satisfying. 7 Minor findings which needs to be, and can be, resolved over the next couple of weeks. The aim is to announce the accreditation before the end of year.

Spirulina harvest - 10 october 2012

With pleasure I can announce that through the hard work of our team we are currently harvesting the first batches of Spirulina out of pont 1 and pont 2. These batches are the result of two months of research to improve our Spirulina yield. The spirulina will not be sold but used for lab testing.

By December 2012 we are expecting to have multiple ponts in use and therefore to supply our customers with our new Spirulina batches.

Cooperation with UCT - 10 July 2012

We are proudly to announce the amazing opportunity to cooperate with a top academic institute in Africa, University of Cape Town.

The Algal Technology Platform, part of the Centre for Bioprocess Engineering Research (CeBER) has chosen our facility to research the growth of algue.
