Company Overview

Biodelta provides contract manufacturing and packaging solutions to the health and food industry.

We offer a turnkey solution with our in house pharmacist, food scientists, design, print & packaging as well as our facility where we are able to manufacture and pack capsules, tablets, powders, granules, (effervescent) sachets and tea.

We keep production in-house, with a fully integrated value chain that incorporates research and product development, manufacturing and packaging as well as packaging design, print and finishing.

With a resident pharmacist, 2 food scientists, 2 packaging technologists (flexible and litho) and other core business personnel, we are able to assist our clients throughout the complete supply chain.

History
The company started as Healthpops CC t/a Ownbrand in 2004 and was born out of an unique relationship between packaging technologist Leon Giese (BCOM UCT) and pharmacist Nel-Marie Swart (BPHARM POTCH).

The first product launched was Healthpops, a range of immune boosting lollipops for kids. Healthpops has since grown into a nationwide brand.

In 2006, the company started developing products in Own Branded packaging for retail pharmacy groups and the company had shown tremendous growth, through the dedication of developing its customers brands.

In 2010 Own Brand acquired its own production facility in Biodelta.

Originally Biodelta was a Spirulina producing facility, utilizing state of the art harvesting and production techniques. Our unique enclosed production facility allows us to produce Spirulina that contains the highest possible concentration of immune stimulating compounds. A look at our typical analysis tested by independent accredited laboratories will reveal that our nutritional value is of the highest standards in the world.

Since 2011 both companies are merged into Biodelta (pty) LTD and acquired a tea packing division with machinery that is suitable to pack beautiful individual teabags into polyprop sachets.

2014 is the year that the Biodelta group is spreading it wings and is entering the market of food by launching a company called Good Food. The Good Food products are fresh, healthy and uncomplicated. You won't see any "low-fat" or "organic" sticker on our products because we don't do marketing gimmicks.

All the meats, nuts and other ingredients are sourced and produced with care. You can see the journey of all the product from the land to your hand.

Whether you are following a Banting, Ducan or Atkins eating plan or just looking to feel and look better by cutting carbs, it's all good. It's also Paleo compliant.

2015 was the year of adopting the Theory of Constraints with the assistance of Opslogik. This change is MOO has significantly reduce the lead-times and increase the stock availability

In 2016 we've started a partnership with Sally-ann Creed, one of the authors of the book "The real meal revolution". Together we've developed a range of banting compliant products which are sold through Spars and community pharmacies.
